안녕! Sorry I have been late to post a new Lesson, But I have been a little busy ^-^
This lesson, is going to have a little less context than the previous one ~ This means that you wont be put off by reading so much, and you will have more time to review the lesson ^^
Like many languages in the world, there are many different ways to say "And." ~ so in this lesson, I am going to introduce 2 of them ^-^
In Todays lesson we are going to learn how to say and write "And." "And Then" "Therefore" and finally "so."
It is really simple because you only have to learn 2 words. The first word means "AND." and "AND THEN" and the second word has the meaning of "therefore, so" e.t.c...
The first word is 그리고 [gu-ri-go]
** please note that the sound ri has a rl sound too it ^^ If you are not sure about the hangul alphabet, then I suggest you can go back to my 2nd post on the hangul alphabet :)
그리고 has the meaning of "And." and also "And Then." depending on what situation you are using it in.
그리고 can be used for linking both, Nouns and phrases, but in normal situations, it is used for linking phrases.
Example on Linking nouns:
커피, 빵, 그리고 물: Coffee, bread AND water.
커피 [ko-pi] = Coffee
빵 [ppang] = Bread
물 [mul] = water
Yeah, pretty basic English rules, you know how to link them all ^-^
The second word is 그래서 [gu-reh-so]
** Again, please note that the r, is a rl sound word ~ If your thinking T^T I can't pronounce this, thats ok, just keep trying and revising ^^
그래서 has the meaning of " Therefore" and "so"
Just like English, you can use this word between 2 sentences to link them up, to make a point ;)
Examples:
오늘 비가 왔어요 [oh-nurl pee-ga wass-oh-yo] = Today it rained
오늘 [oh-nurl] today
비가오다 [pee-ga-oh-da] = To rain
비가왔어요 [pee-ga-was-oh-yo] = Past tense of "to rain."
집에있었아요 [jib-eh-ess-oss-oh-yo] = To stay at home
집 [jib] = House/ Home
있다 [eess-da] = To be
있었어요 [eess-oss-oh-yo] = past tense of "to be."
You can link them together with 그래서 to make:
오늘 은 비가 왔어요 그레서 집에 있었어요. [oh-nurl un pee-ga was-oh-yo gu-reh-so jib-eh eess-oss-oh-yo] = Today it rained, so I stayed at my house.
I HOPE THIS HELPS ^^
BTW ^^ I use a website to help me with the examples ~ It's the website that I learn from ~ but everything else is from me ~ HEHE x
Thank you for visiting ^^
